In 2021, the MSMF Board of Directors signed an agreement with the Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF), to create the Manjari Sankurathri Memorial Foundation Trust. The MSMF Trust is managed in perpetuity by the OCF, with annual interest from investments reverting to MSMF every year to support our projects.
This year, MSMF received $31,747 from the OCF. This money has been transferred to the Sankurathri Foundation for the purchase of a multi-seat van, to support the outreach activities of the recently inaugurated Srikiran-Shah Family Paediatric Eye Care Centre.
In response, The Sankurathri Foundation has extended heartfelt gratitude to MSMF for the generous donation of a Force Traveller vehicle.
This contribution is a significant step in strengthening outreach efforts and advancing the mission of ensuring that every child has access to timely, quality vision care.
On the Road to 100,000 Annual Screenings
This vehicle empowers us to turn our vision into action. Over the next four years, we aim to conduct 100,000 vision screenings annually for children aged 0–18 years, creating a lasting impact on the eye health and future well-being of young lives across Andhra Pradesh.
The Force Traveller will play a key role in enabling the organization of more than 280 children’s vision screening camps each year, particularly in remote tribal and rural communities where access to quality eye care remains limited. By reaching these underserved populations, we can detect vision problems early and provide timely treatment, helping prevent avoidable visual impairment and blindness.
